What are Attendant Care Services?
Attendant Care Services – Hands-on assistance for the functional needs of an individual who has a physical disability and may need assistance with activities of daily living. Activities of daily living include:
- Bathing
- Toileting (Bladder and bowel requirements, bedpan routines, movement to and from the bathroom)
- Mobility – transferring from a bed, chair, or other structure and moving indoors and outdoors
- Moving – turning and positioning the body while in bed or a wheelchair
- Nutritional planning
- Preparing meals, including prescribed special diets
- Dressing and changing clothes
- Assisting/reminding individuals to take medications
- Light housekeeping
- Laundry for the individual and cleaning the living area of the individual
